The "Gear Tooth Contact Pattern
Analysis System" (Pat. Pending) is used to image all
teeth on a gear, and analyze the gear meshing for location of contact
pattern, size of contact pattern, and changes in position of the
contact pattern. It operates at production rates and can ensure proper
assembly or be used in prior stages of manufacturing to assure proper
gear manufacturing. |

A wireframe three dimensional
image of a hypoid
bevel gear where a complete scan of a tooth can be done within a minute
providing substantial information about tooth shape. This can be
compared to a CAD file or to another gear. The inspection process is
aimed at being automated. |
