Automated inspection of surgical implants
LVR has developed a new low cost family of 3D scanners to accomodate the orthopeadic market place, taking the place of optical comparators and CMMs and eliminating the need for feeler gages and costly hand measurement.
These scanners allow manufacturers to accurately scan parts in production, compare the scans to the orginal CAD drawings and make accurate measurements in real time. Images obtained from the combination of part scans and comparisons to CAD drawings may be sectioned to obtain accurate limits for manufacturing purposes. The scanners may be coupled to robots to automate the inspection and measurement process.
Pricing is comparable to optical comparators and CMMs with out the tedious hand measurement
